The inquiry of explosion incidents, either after the explosive devices have exploded or rendered unexploded, is a dire need for the Criminal Justice System and security of the nation. The investigation can be carried out by collecting evidences, providing or eliminating suspects, establishing an interconnection to the suspected, establishing similarities such as tool-marks, residues etc., substantiating a theory of the incident & establishing the explosives/bomb designer’s impression. The information regarding the origin of explosives gives a specific direction to the law-enforcement for investigation. The unexploded explosives detection or after blast residues detection provides clue regarding the root of the explosive used for preparing explosive device. Explosive detection devices (EDD) are one of the most utilized tools by the security agency to detect the presence of explosive before any unwanted blast occurs. Detection of existence of explosives substances in a large sensitive area is one of the primary challenges faced by security agencies as continuous automatic scanning is required there. Auto detection of the existence of explosives materials in a large stretch of sensitive area requires a network of wireless sensor nodes equipped with miniature chemical sensor for explosive detection.en_US
